Freon Huffing

Some teens seeking a free high have turned to “freon huffing,” the practice of inhaling freon directly from air conditioners.

The practice is dangerous and can be deadly for  teens, and it can destroy an air conditioning unit in just minutes.

Fortunately, it’s easy and inexpensive to secure your system with a locking cap. To learn more, check out these news reports:

  1. One of our customers saw kids releasing r22 and inhaling it at an apartmentt complex. With the price of r22 going up 300% and a shortage coming this summer, we are expecting the theft of r22 to begin soon. For both reasons (the danger to teens and the possibility of theft), we recommend that our customers use locking gas caps to secure their freon. Our price for the cap and installation is about $60 per set.
